Welcome Back Deerfield Dolphins!!!!
Can you believe we are over a month into 2024?? And we will be cheering poolside again soon!! Your 2024 Swim Team Board is already hard at work planning for our 2024 swim season, so I wanted send out this kick off email today.
First and Foremost, a HUGE THANK YOU to Jenny Krummel for her years of service and dedication to this team. Her leadership has spanned almost two decades with Deerfield Dolphins. With this well deserved move for Jenny, I look forward to the 2024 season as Deerfield's president and team representative.
I attended NWAL's annual meeting last month and met up with the other team reps in our division. We have 2 new teams joining our division this year --- we welcome the Windsong Wavebreakers and the Stone Creek Stingrays. Meet schedule has been updated on our website and new information will be coming out over the next month or so.
As we plan for our 2024 season, we do have some lead volunteer roles that need filled. I know it is said every year, but it really does take the village to run swim meets. If you have been thinking of getting involved, please reach out to a board member or reply to this email to discuss opportunities. There is no better time to get involved and, quite frankly, WE NEED YOU!!
Clerk of Course - This role works with Computers and Coaches to ensure accurate attendance at meets. This role arrives ahead of swimmers and is responsible for check in process, scratches and reassignments. This is the role that swimmers text/call leading up to meet regarding attendance.
Officials - Stroke and Turn officials have the best "seat in the house". They are poolside and monitor swimmers in the water.
Both CoC and S&T officials do have some training and a test to complete, but DON'T let this deter you --- You will have support from our veteran officials! Please reach out if you want more information.
Other opportunities that are available:
Merchandise
Social/Event Coordinator
Ready Bench Lead
Sponsorships
This email is starting to run long, so will end here for now. More to come, so stay tuned.
GO Dolphins,
Erinn Brown
