additional announcement
Deerfield Family,
Yesterday was a blur! Still so happy we were able to knock out the meet in the midst of lack of power, debris cleanup and more. After I reviewed my email sent yesterday, I realized I had missed a lot that I wanted to share. I have power back at my house today and sat down at computer felt compelled to send another email.
First, to those in our extended Deerfield swim family, I hope power now is or soon is returned. As of now, practices will resume as normal tomorrow.
I - again- but louder today just want to thank everyone that made yesterday happen. Copperfield team rep and I had discussed multiple options if we had to cancel/reschedule yesterday and let me say NONE were good options. At the core of summer swim values, its just letting kids swim and fun community spirit -- and that is what exactly happened yesterday!
In my quick email yesterday, there were MANY, MANY shout outs that I missed. I will probably still miss some today, but I wanted to try to cover some more....
Eric Toureilles and the Deerfield HOA Board members --- your support and willingness to approve this meet change at last minute without hesitation was incredible. I don't think we realize how fortunate we are to have the HOA Board that we do.
Cat Guilberteau, the Deerfield office manager --- Thank you for handling logistics of unplanned meet and contact the poor family that had rented the clubhouse for an event that afternoon!!
Scott Bivens, our fabulous DJ --- for providing entertainment to the meet when Copperfield's DJ was unavailable.
Kat Mona, our amazing computers guru --- working with Copperfield computers and the heavy technical lifting to get the meet started!!
I also wanted to share the kind words from two of Copperfield Swim Board members:
The board, our team and myself want to extend a huge thank you to Deerfield and their team and board for their hospitality today. Your team did not have to go above and beyond and help Copperfield the way you did but you heard our cry for help and answered it in ways we did not even imagine. Your team helped with everything from opening the pool to us and allowing us to host, to your crew helping set up until late evening last night to being there at the crack of dawn this AM to insure we had all the help we needed. I wish I could share all the feedback we got from our families and yours and how grateful they were to have something normal and fun to look forward and how happy they were to not have another canceled meet. The laughing, joking, smiling and banter between our two teams did not go unnoticed and we can't thank you enough for the memories the kids and adults alike now have. Green 2 Division forever! Kind regards, Christy McCarthy, Copperfield Team Rep
Erinn, THANK YOU to you, the DFV Board, Officials, and Team for opening your home turf to us today to host the meet there. We have heard nothing but positive feedback from happy swimmers, and happy parents, for being able to make this meet happen!! Please pass along our gratefulness to the whole DFV Team for your generosity and wonderful spirit of camaraderie during this difficult week. We hope that we can offer as much hospitality next year as yall did for us today. Looking forward to seeing you at Divisionals! Jennifer Bennis, Copperfield Volunteer Coordinator.
Thanks to all for the support and patience over the last few days. It is appreciated. Again, practices resume as normal tomorrow. Lets swim hard and get ready for Windsong this Saturday.
See you by the pool,
Erinn Brown
